Where can I buy ice skates?

Hey... I go ice skating a lot but I%26#039;m not a hockey player or anything... But i want to buy black ice skates for girls... Where can I buy them?... It could be a store or online but it will be way better if it%26#039;s a store...

Where can I buy ice skates?
If you mean figure skates, white is worn by girls/women and black is worn by boys/men. Maybe it%26#039;s %26quot;tradition%26quot; that makes it that way (???). All the girls/women and boys/men figure skate descriptions (for the regular boot type) will be labeled that way. So there are no %26quot;black%26quot; skates for girls - as the assumption is girls wear white figure skates.

If I am not mistaken, for children%26#039;s skates, there is no difference in a girls%26#039; or boys%26#039; skates except for the color (and that the boys%26#039; usually cost a few dollars more for some reason). However sizing is different for women and men besides the color . . . men%26#039;s are wider than women%26#039;s.

But hey, if you absolutely want black - go for it - whatever you%26#039;re comfortable with. They just need to fit you right. That being said, it%26#039;s probably best if you do go buy them in person so you can try them on. And for the best fit you should go to a pro shop (the skate store at the rink or at least a shop that specializes in figure skates) and ask for the expert skate fitter. It%26#039;s possible your local sports store may carry some skates, but they may not be considered %26quot;quality%26quot; ones.

Some online shops:

Some of the pics are all %26quot;girls%26quot; skates - if you read it carefully it will say they come in black.

Reply:From a sports store like Hibbetts Sports if yall have one
Reply:any ice skating rink sells skates, why do you want black...i mean whatever float your boat, but generally black is made for guys...you can buy white skates and get boot black covers for them..
Reply:well, if i were you i would buy my skates in white! i love white ice skates, but why do you like black? i have white redells, that i got for my birthday 5 weeks ago for my 12th birthday, and they are still in good condition! i got mine from my rink i go to for lessons, at the roseville skatetown ice arena. they have a pro-shop there, and they even have black skates for girls. but i got white reidells. good luck!
Reply:I don%26#039;t know of any stores that sell black figure skates (that%26#039;s what kind you%26#039;d want if they%26#039;re not for hockey). But if you get a pair of white figure skates, which are much easier to find, you can buy black boot covers. You put them on over your skates and they stretch out to cover up the boot. They come in all different colors and patterns, and pretty much any store selling figure skates carries them.

I did search online for some black skates and they%26#039;re very hard to find if they%26#039;re not for hockey but here are some I found:

http://www.skates.com/Riedell-Custom-Col... (lets you choose the color of your skates...it%26#039;s not cheap though, about 200)
Reply:If you want black skates, just buy a boy%26#039;s/men%26#039;s size. If you go to a pro shop, tell them you want to be fitted for boy%26#039;s skates. You can check online shops (just search for figure skates)....some have skates that look more like an athletic shoe/ski boot. They have figure skate blades, not hockey blades, but as I%26#039;ve heard from recreational skaters, they%26#039;re much more comfortable than a traditional figure skating boot. They%26#039;re called Softecs. They come in pink, blue, black, white, gray.... You can find them at rainbosports.com or other pro shops as well.
Reply:It might be hard for you to find black skates for girls. You can custom order colored skates, but it might be expensive. A cheap alternative would be to buy black boot covers and put them over white skates.
