You can re-mold skates. put them in a board (so you dont%26#039; damage the blade) on an oven set to warm for about 7-10 minutes then put them on as you would wear them in a game. leave them on until the cool, try walking around on them with good skate guards.

You can also wet them and walk around to break them in the old fashioned way...
Reply:He most likely molded them himself that is why you are feeling pain in your ankles.

I would suggest wearing 2 socks if you don%26#039;t already do so. Try taping your ankle with a special type of padding tap that you can get at any hockey or sports store. And try experimenting with the tightness when you tie your skates. Try making them as tight as possible then keep loosening them if the pain continues until you have found a comfortable tightness.
Reply:When you%26#039;re confident you have the right size, buy some new ones. Your toes should just touch the ends, so when you bend your knees they move off the end slightly. I learned on the wrong size skates - I went for my street shoe size and needed two sizes smaller.

Don%26#039;t know about the ankle thing- if you%26#039;re new to skating maybe you%26#039;re leaning inwards on your ankles too much.
Reply:Islanders fans always give the BIG headed answer that leaves you with the LEAST amount of information.

This can sometimes happen from your skates being too tight. While they are still breaking in, keep them a little looser.

Your problem, I believe, is that you aren%26#039;t getting anough blood to your foot/ankle region and that burning sensation you get after wearing them for 30-45 mins is actually the atrophy setting in from a lack of oxygen.
Reply:Get them heated, then molded to your foot. Get 2 - 3 times per week practicing until broken in. If your ankle hurts, x2 your socks!
Reply:why buy skates off ebay? next time, you should try to go to a quality sports store, try different pairs on, and then make a desicion based on what skates feel the best, soemthing you can%26#039;t do on ebay.. if the skates hurt that much sell them on ebay for more then you bought them for, and go get a new pair (NOT on ebay). if you really want to use these, then try to mold them to your foot. if that doesn%26#039;t work, well, it%26#039;ll take some getting used to but suck it up i%26#039;m sorry but thats what i%26#039;ve been told when my equipment hurts :P

tight or loose is up to you i like my skates real tight but some like it loose.
